How To Maximize Storage Space in a Bathroom
The solution seems to be to make the most of storage spaces when designing your bathroom. Open shelves can make it easy to access the items that you use regularly whereas storage cabinets and baskets allow you to hide away those things that you don't want to leave just lying around.
It can be difficult to figure out how to include a maximum amount of storage space in the small area of a bathroom but it's definitely do-able - and important to do! By choosing the right types of storage and using the organizational tools available to you, you can have a bathroom that contains everything you need without being cluttered.
Adding storage to a bathroom is usually a small job. However, if you're renovating an entire bathroom then you can do something bigger. Here we've got sinks with storage built in behind them for a unique design. There are drawers, shelves and counter space so there's a place for everything but you still have easy access to the sinks that you use daily.
One of my favorite little storage spaces in a bathroom is a cut out area in the wall of the shower or any wall in the bathroom. It's a great space for setting out the items that you want to see in the bathroom. Adding colorful tiles or new paint to these areas makes it possible to really create a cool design in the bathroom space without spending a lot of money.
A bold cabinet area in the bathroom can make a real statement about the room. Here we've got everything hidden away inside of the big cabinet so the furniture itself is what stands out in terms of design. Adding a plant to the counter space brings life into the room and breathes a bit of freshness into a space that can sometimes be stale.
Open shelves are great in a bathroom since it makes all of the items that you're storing easily accessible. Shelves are especially great near a bathtub as can be seen here. You can stack some towels, keep the shampoo and conditioner handy and store all of the other items that you might want to grab without getting out of the tub. These shelves are also a great place for setting candles to create ambience for the bathroom.
I love this example of how creative shelving can really add to the design of a bathroom. The modern Asian decor here is really unique and the curvaceous shelving that was chosen for storage really enhances the overall style of the bathroom. Here you can keep some of the items that you need and you can also use the space to display small items related to the theme of the room's design.
This bathroom provides a really great example of simple storage solutions that also enhance the design of the bathroom. The small shelves and the counter space are great spots for items that you want to leave out for regular use. The drawers and cabinets hide away the items that you need to have in the bathroom but don't want just sitting on a shelf. The unique choice of paint here - painting some drawers but not all of them - makes the room stand out from others of its kind and gives you a little bit of a treat when you enter the bathroom.
If you're lucky enough to have a large bathroom such as this one then you can really take advantage of multiple types of storage areas. Underneath the sink is a great space to store the items that you don't want guests seeing when they have to use the room. Smaller areas of open shelving on the left and right of the sink are convenient for keeping soaps and other items that guests may need to access. Hanging storage units in the corner of the shower gives you a place to stick the shampoo and other open containers that you need to use on a daily basis.
Here's something that you don't see every day - a lounge space in the bathroom. This allows you to set up a table to store items while creating a little getaway in your own home.
