Cups with lovePersonalise tea bowls or cups with your own message. Arm yourself with an oil-based Sharpie marker pen from a stationer or hobby shop and doodle a loving message or artwork on plain white cups or bowls. Allow to dry and pop in the oven. Set oven to 175degC oven and turn off after 30 minutes. It’s important to put cups in before you turn on the oven and to allow the oven to cool down before removing them. The decoration can be sprayed with an acrylic sealer (from craft shops). Gentle handwash recommended.Give these to … someone who can’t live without their morning cuppa

Doggy delightsI make these as special treats for my canine friend. They’re free from nasty chemicals and are a good crunch in the mouth. In a food processor, whiz up 2 cups wholemeal flour, 1/2 cup peanut butter, an egg (shell and all), a large tablespoon carob powder, a small banana and a slurp of honey. Roll into a tube, chill and cut into rounds. Bake at 160degC for 25 minutes. Mmmm!Give these to … the dog in your life
Colourful coastersTo go with your chai and cups, a fun thing for kids to make is a set of felt ball coasters. Balls are available cheaply on the Net - around $50 for 200 in a variety of colours. Buy cheap cork coasters or cut circles from cork placemats and glue balls on with hobby glue, or thread on strong cotton, twist into a tight spiral and secure with a couple of cross-threads to keep the balls in place. For flat coasters, use 1cm balls, or go bigger for a place mat or teapot trivet.Give these to … do you know anyone who doesn’t drink tea or coffee?
Fabulous fudgeYou may not be up to whizzing together raspberry and pinenut macarons with basil ganache, but anyone can make fudge. My go-to fudge recipe will put you in seventh heaven. Bring 500g sugar, 500ml cream and 2 tablespoons liquid glucose to the boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Boil briskly for 10-15 minutes, stirring often, until thick and golden. Take off heat and beat until very thick. Stir in nuts and raisins if desired and spread immediately on oiled foil. Leave to set, break into chunks.Give this to … someone with a serious sweet tooth
Lemon-coconut hand scrubA gloopy grainy scrub that whisks cooking odours and grime and smells fresh and delicious makes a great gift. Mix 1/2 cup warmed organic virgin coconut oil with 1/2 cup sea salt flakes and the finely grated rind of two lemons. Pack into a wide-mouthed jar. It’s massaged into hands for a few minutes, rinsed with lukewarm water and patted dry. The oil moisturises, the salt smooths and the lemon removes stains.Give this to … a garlic-loving cook or someone who suffers from ‘gardener’s hands’
