Organization can be fun, especially when it comes to displaying your accessories. In this episode of Houzz TV, New York organizer Jeanie Engelbach shares how she uses six unconventional items to create quick, inexpensive jewelry displays. She reminds everyone that “if you don’t see it, you don’t wear it.”

1. Paint Rollers
Paint rollers work great for organizing bangles because everything easily slides on and off the tube, Engelbach says. They also stand upright, which maximizes vertical storage without taking up a lot of surface space on your dresser or vanity. She uses three sizes of paint rollers to create additional depth on top of her vanity.
2. Artist’s Mannequin
Engelbach picked up a form used for sketching from an art store. She uses the mannequin’s outstretched arms, visible at the top left of this photo, to hold more bracelets and bangles.
3. Petit-Four Tray
This three-tiered tray designed to showcase desserts also displays jewelry quite well. The tiers allow for additional storage without taking up any more surface space. Plus, Engelbach can easily see what sits on each level. She uses it to house rings and frequently worn bracelets.

4. Nails
Engelbach added rows of simple hardware store nails to the inside of her salvaged vanity for necklace storage. She hangs a necklace on each nail, which keeps them from getting tangled together, Engelbach says.

5. Cup Hooks
Small cup hooks screwed into the top of the inside of the cabinet add even more storage for Engelbach’s accessories. She hangs hoop earrings here, saving other storage space for earrings that can’t hang.

6. Thumbtacks
Engelbach pushed tacks into the inside of the vanity so that she can hang up her strap watches. She doesn’t wear her watches all the time, but this allows her to easily see her options.

I love the artist's mannequin with the bracelets. So colorful and lots of personality. Just one pet peeve is her rubber bracelets. I've always disliked those...so weird and ugly to me. Looks like you're wearing miniature bicycle inner tubes. But everything else is great!
