Our Farm House Kitchen
This year, springtime of 2017, we have decided to move home to our farmhouse, where our family has lived off and on at times, for 25 years. It is both an exciting adventure and an overwhelming challenge. We all shift gears when we move, our taste may be different, the furniture we desire to use is not the same, nor the art perhaps and the over-all feel of our “new” old ‘40’s” home. Thank you Lord for all the blessings, we also are praying for an early sale on our beloved beach house of 14 years that we will definitely be moving many pieces into our farmhouse. I know our home will have the same sense of style we love, with a more eclectic feel, using our pieces that work now here, possibly sorting them out later as we store them safely for deciding. We are used to a home with more light, better flow of energy though our farmhouse will be similar that way; hardwood floors are at the beach, and doubt they can be taken along! So that is one goal so far we agree on- getting our large things into storage, planning out a budget for extra work needed, using a local contractor and electrician recommended already who would be asked ahead to help with decisions and pricing, so I am building a page to hold the inspiration and perhaps some before and during photos of the entire house! Now our kitchen layout is ideal. The cabinetry, doors, counters, and walls are all being considered as projects for us. The kitchen seems to have been a central space we come together on that way, so it is prominent for now and as I add photos, contacts, I also dream a little and sort out what really does feel like “us”.
