I vote for a navy leather sofa or pale grey for contrast and interest, then chairs in the colors of the rug in a patterned or solid choice. I also suggested navy as it would look very pretty in the room and would add a dark feel that relates to the TV unit and will make it look better too. I also tried to find rooms that did not have a sea of white cabinets next to them and had low ceilings somewhat like your room.
Navy with neutral walls and chairs and wood and steel furniture and Roman Shades.....very neutral with the simple shades; hard to choose plain when there are so many pretties out there. haha
Neutral room with solid everywhere except the exceptional art and the dog!
Modern vibe navy sofa but here I like the contrast of the dark sofa that relates to the dark art and mixed blue patterned rug and then everything else is pretty much the wall color----chairs, lamps tables chrome metal finish
This room below is a lovely mix of all the things that go into a family room and has really great balance for a somewhat normal sized room(Houzz seems to specialize in humongous rooms that 80 percent of us do not have!!!!)....the rug directs the colors and patterns used in the room....dark TV relates to dark picture frame and curtain rods and fireplace opening. The greenery adds fresh air to the room. The candlesticks match the fireplace in weight, but the woven baskets and wove roman shade add a soft feel to the room.....just goes to show how MUCH goes into the room once you have the sofa and the chairs.....the floral chairs could very well be a solid tone found in the carpet and it would look lovely......you have a beautiful room to work with, so take your time.....Flexsteel and Ethan Allen make great sofas if you have them in your area as does Lazy Boy. Good luck!
