Style Mix: Organic Glam
Update the natural look with some sophisticated pattern and shine

I remember the days when your taste was categorized as eclectic if you simply had more than one decor style in your home. Currently I'm designing a space I refer to as Organic Glam. It's a well-curated mix of weathered wood, reflective furniture and accessories, and plush fabrics. It's both organic and glamorous.
The juxtaposition of raw and finished, dull and shiny, rough and smooth is the main attraction in the space. The play on texture is a delight for the senses. The designers of these rooms would agree.

In the midst of clapboard walls and soaring ceilings this oceanfront home boasts not one, but two pretty chandeliers made from natural elements. The shell wall mirrors emphasize the room's openness and bounces light throughout the space.
Planked walls are softened with a coat of creamy paint and become sophisticated when paired with a neutral palette, soft upholstered furniture and glowing accessories.
A driftwood mirror organically fits a color palette mimicking a white sandy surf. A marble surround further enhances its understated elegance.
The neighboring kitchen reveals the rest of the treasured marble and features another breathtaking element, a lovely multiarm chandelier adorned with wooden beads.
Whitewashed chairs, exposed wooden beams, a rustic chandelier go glam in the midst of gilded framed artwork and a plush burnt orange sofa.
A room layered with texture then multiplied by an installation of wall-to-wall mirror relentlessly seduces the senses. A soft hide rug against a layer of seagrass, followed by antiqued pillars, rich color, and French chairs has to be the epitome of rustic glamour.
Looking for organic style mixed with casual glamour? Try a relaxing blend of slipcovered furnishings, wooden lamps, textural shades, and a pair of toss pillows in trendy fabric.
Designer tip: With a neutral palette like this one, replacing the toss pillows alone will effortlessly change the direction of the space.

I think this is one of my favorite combos-glam and green. It is stunning.
Based on the comment history, this was posted September 2011. I did not discover it until 2021, returning to it in 2022, because I like it. What happened in the meantime? Did it not catch on? Did it come and go while I was distracted? Was it not well enough defined to catch on? It seems the one special thing about it is light fixtures, and they still seem to be going strong. Did it get a different name? I still like it and want to learn more.
