Let Back To School Time Inspire You at Home
Gym. Lockers are so practical and work in so many spaces — the mudroom, a kid’s room, a studio, even the garage. Use them for coats and boots, purses and bookbags, crafting supplies, workshop tools, exercise equipment, books, hats mittens and gloves, gardening supplies, maybe a mirror inside to check your face before you walk out the door. Oh and most importantly, don’t forget to hang photos of heartthrobs on the inside of the door.
Arithmetic. Like the ABCs and 123s wallpaper, these simple flashcard-like prints also provide a pleasing graphic touch. Use them with numbers that mean something to you, like the number of family members you have or the day+month=year of a birthday (and hey, this will lead you half-way to your numerology number). To find similar prints, search “flashcard sign” on Etsy. Ask artists who sell the ones you like if they can customize them with the numbers you want.
Doodle time. Sometimes school was just plain boring. I remember my favorite teacher Mrs. McCarthy’s only problem with me on my report cards was my doodling during class. That was third grade and I can still hear Mr. Lacatelle yelling at me to stop doodling on my folder during my senior year. At home you can doodle your heart away. After all, while it’s not acceptable to deface your desk at school, you can scribble all you want at home and it might even turn into something wonderful.
The ABCs and 123s. The charming graphic black and white print on this wallpaper may just inspire you to improve your penmanship. Wallpaper: Quentin’s ABC
