Guest Picks: A Soft, Luxurious Place to Land
This rug — oh, this rug. It's one that I'll dream about for the rest of my life. It's simple and unassuming, yet it's a little too pricey for my liking. But, man, it would go so well with my living room decor.
I am loving the ikat pattern that seems to be everywhere these days, and this rug just screams, "Buy me!" It's on my wish list. Whether or not I'll actually have a place for it is a different story, but, hey, a girl can dream.
I'm kind of obsessed with quatrefoil (just wait), and I love that this rug has just a touch of the pattern. The color choices are amazing, and the fact that the pattern doesn't overpower the rug makes it an ideal choice for anyone who wants to introduce a bit of pattern into a room.
When I look online for rugs, there is always one that I keep coming back to, and this is it. I have caught myself adding it to my online shopping cart only to close out of the window just before making the purchase because I cannot commit. I love chevron as much as the next person, but I think this rug (and the chevron trend) might be a bit too much for my office decor.
This rug looks like a carpet remnant, but its high pile makes me want to grab a pillow and a warm blanket and curl up for a nap. I also love the affordable price. Ikea for the win!
As I look at home decor and think about updating spaces in my home, I have found that I am drawn to yellow. This rug needs to make its way into my home. It's simple yet still elegant enough to be the focal point of any room.
What did I mention earlier about quatrefoil? I told you. Although there are only two color choices, both are beautiful. This quatrefoil pattern is busy, but not so busy that you'd want to cover it up.
What is it with yellow? I love the pattern on this rug. It's not quatrefoil or chevron, but it's bold and geometric. And as a bonus, this rug can be used both indoors and outdoors.
There's something about a sisal rug that makes my heart happy. Maybe it's because I have children and pets, and I know this type of rug can (and will) take a beating. The natural fiber is easy on the eyes, too. It's not plush or soft to lay upon, but a rug like this will still do the job.
This rug is bold. It's also a square rug, and that's not something you see often. If you need a pop of color and pattern in a small room, this rug might just do the trick. I know if I had somewhere to put it, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Only $70 for a rug that's just over 6-feet square? Sold — well, I wish.
The Moroccan trellis kind of looks like quatrefoil, doesn't it? I love this rug in navy. Unfortunately, there is nothing navy blue about my home's decor. Le sigh.
I love the stripes on this rug. It's simple, classy and probably perfect for my office, but if you can't already tell, I'm having a bit of trouble narrowing down my choices. This rug is 100 percent cotton, and it's reversible.
This rug is pretty, don't you think? It's definitely not something I would choose for my own home, but I cannot help that I'm drawn to the pattern and, especially, the colors. I'll probably dream about this rug.
Here's another striped rug that I cannot stop thinking about. And it's only $70 — score! I love the gray and white combination, and it's neutral enough to fit into just about any contemporary/casual decor.
This rug reminds me of sand dollars; therefore, it would fit right in with my beachy/nautical decor. It's neutral in color, and the pattern isn't too busy — at least, not in my opinion.
The pattern on this rug is almost dainty. Although it's smaller than the size I'm looking for, it would be a nice accent rug.
It's yellow and quatrefoil-ish — again. Clearly, there's an underlying theme to my rug quest. As much as I tend to shy away from a white rug, I do like the look of this rug and how it has just the right amount of color scattered throughout.
OK, I think I've found the chevron rug that I need to purchase. I like that this is not a traditional chevron pattern and that the zigzags are not the same size. It adds some interest and depth to the rug.
I love the geometric pattern on this rug. I also love the color: It's not too light, not too bright. Plus, it is busy enough to compete with furniture and other home decor.Next: 11 Area Rug Rules and How to Break Them
