Remove all of the brick and stone bed borders…maybe they can be used elsewhere for some other project. Change out or paint the part of the downspout that is running along the ground dark brown so it blends with the mulch. Reshape/edge the beds so they curve and flow around the corners of your house, even if you don’t plant the bed that runs alongside the garage right away. Do not plant anything under the roof overhangs…let nature water your plants. Here is a suggested layout…all of these plants should do well where they are positioned. I give options and there are many varieties available within each type of plant. The golden rule in landscaping is the right plant for the right spot…and that has everything to do with its water, light and soil, and physical space requirement needs. Hope this helps…
