PREVIOUS HOME IN CLAYTON :-(
OUR HOME IN CLAYTON SOLD IN 2012: We opened up the bathroom in this 1997 home by removing the private toilet compartment. My goal was to have two separate vanities not next to each other, to have a soaking tub, and to have more closet space. The small 4'x9' closet had a 6ft opening with sliding mirror doors, which we converted to a 36" opening, allowing use of the inner wall for hanging things like jewelry, scarves, belts and allowing the other side to be space for one of the vanities. Another goal was to have everything possible off the floor, hence the wall-hung toilet and vanities (which we made from Ikea entertainment units because they didn't have vanities like this, which they do now).
Never appreciating the architects who designed master bedrooms to be open to its en-suite so that one can lie in bed and view their partner brushing their teeth or be awakened by the power lights going on, we installed a barn-door style door and it worked very well.

ELFA!
The wall on the right was extended by reducing the sliding closet door wall to 36" . Made a huge difference in this tiny 4'x9' closet.
The closet doorway is just covered by hanging Japanese-style 3/4 length panels in linen/cotton. No need to open, just walk through. Worked!
My husband does such great moldings and I love this style
