We live on an acre, have great neighbors, and we love to entertain using the backyard patio, outdoor kitchen and fireplace. These are some great ideas, many of which we have used at our parties. To add a "country" feel to our gatherings we place 2 big galvanized round tubs filled with ice, water, beer, wine, drinks etc in the outdoor kitchen area. Everyone can grab their own choice and we don't have to worry about the tubs sweating since they are outside. We also use inexpensive tiki torches from Lowes filled with citronella oil to help keep the mosquitoes away. I like to put put games like badminton and/or corn hole toss out in the yard to help lure the guests to different areas and give them something fun to do. It's a nice way for people to mingle.

I live in an Association managed townhouse community. Our outdoor entertainment cut off time is 10 PM. On holidays/weekends, before midnight. Some people are ridiculous regarding any noise, period. Here's an idea, why not invite the neighbors to the party, RSVP. This way they can opt in or out. If they opt out, they'll probably hear how great the party is going and regret the opt out. Or they'll have a great time if they show up and think twice about complaining in the future. Lol
