Cool Concrete
<subtitle>
Go industrial with concrete style in your bathroom, kitchen and dining room or living room
Concrete in the Dining Room & KitchenOutside of the bathroom, be careful not to overdue it with concrete. You can still introduce quite a few pieces in the kitchen since it’s a space for working, but the dining room should look softer (think a concrete-topped table or pendant light). If you just want to experiment with the look, the kitchen is perfect—look for utensil crocks, salt cellars and even kitchen carts.
Concrete in the Living RoomThe living room is a great place to make a big statement with concrete. You can go one of two ways: choose a big piece of furniture, like a coffee table, or sprinkle a few small concrete items around the space—think a stool, bookends and lamp. Don’t do both or your living room will end up looking cold and dark. Offset the hard surface with softer textures and make sure you’re not using a dark color palette. We especially love concrete with unexpected brights like red or yellow.
Concrete in the BathroomThe bathroom is such a fun place to use concrete because it allows you play up a clean, sparse look. A concrete sink will really make a statement, but accessories like a toothbrush holder or soap dish will you give you the look as well. We’ve even found concrete tiles, a toilet brush and even a tub in the Houzz Shop! Choose as many concrete pieces as you’d like for the bathroom—you can’t really go overboard in here since soft towels and mats will keep it from looking too harsh.
