In The Openwork
<Subtitle>
Create the look of more space and make a style statement with openwork furniture and decor
Openwork FurnitureThe nice thing about openwork furniture is that it’s not confined to one style. From traditional to craftsman to modern to Baroque, every aesthetic can incorporate open styles. To try it out, start with a side table that has small cutouts our dining chairs with a unique design. To really open up space, look for an openwork buffet for your dining room or a coffee table for the living room. Laser cut counts—lots of small holes can be just as effective at creating the look of larger spaces. If you want to try something really different, choose a china cabinet with an open front.
Openwork DecorWe love open, cutout and laser cut decor because it draws the eye and offers a unique silhouette. Try a fireplace screen, wall mirror, or object d’art with cutouts for a little something different. To make more of a statement, choose a vase or bowl (decorative only, of course!) with intricate openwork.
