I am happy to comment. We are in a Shaw floor nightmare right now. Right after we moved in, we started noticing that the edges of our engineered wood planks were peeling/chipping off. As part of it wears off, you can easily 'chip off' the adjacent areas. In the attached picture, you can see that the peeling is on the edges of almost all of the planks. We have only lived in our brand new house for 9 months. About 3 months into living here, we decided to contact our builder. That was February 2017. They have had our builder inspect it, the installation company/dealer inspect it, and a third party inspector come to take a look. They decided that it would be an appropriate resolution to 'touch up' the edges where it is chipping/wearing off. In addition, it scratches/dents so easily that I am afraid to look at it the wrong way. I have 3 small children and two dogs, but there is NO way that any reputable brand should be having this problem immediately after install. I have been told that Shaw has offered to replace up to 75 boards, as well as pay for touch ups, which is completely unacceptable. I will accept nothing less than a full replacement, pay for movers, hotel room, food, and a cleaning of the house after the project is complete. At this point, I will have to be convinced to replace it with another Shaw wood product. We will accept replacement with Shaw tile, if we are only credited towards Shaw products. I would have preferred wood, but am now terrified of Shaw products after researching thought the internet and our experience. In fact, I am in a brand new neighborhood with 3 different home builders. We have a very small neighborhood Facebook forum that is private and for neighbors only. I have been messaged privately and/or informed about 4 other completely defective floor issues in our small neighborhood. We paid over $15,000 and it is Shaw King's Canyon 5" Peppercorn. Feel free to message me with any questions or information.
