Guest Picks: An Outdoor Dinner Party
To start it off I thought I’d bring you the table inspiration that makes me weak in the knees. The inspiration behind this post is by JLDesigns. What I love is that they incorporated a lot neutrals, white (a favorite of mine) and, most of all, the use of wood to make for a breathtaking table. — Caitlin from Sacramento Street
Set these in a corner of your patio or deck and these will instantly make it chic and give you a little extra light when the sun goes down.
A big weathered table is something I long for when it comes to having an outdoor space. This one in particular caught my eye because not only is it beautiful but it’s adjustable, so you can make it bigger or smaller depending on how large a dinner party you are throwing.
These chairs are perfect for dining inside and out — it’s great that they can have a dual purpose. The fact that they are modern and timeless makes them even more desirable.
This is one of my favorite vase collections. You can pair them together on a dining room table or place them around the house. I’ve got a few on my table in the bay window that don’t even have flowers in them because they are beautiful all on their own.
Talk about a perfect vase for beautiful bouquets of ranunculus, tulips or, if they are in season, peonies (my favorite flower). If you’re feeling adventurous, sometimes I fill these beauties with succulents because it’s an inexpensive way to make a lovely centerpiece.
This bud vase paired with the other vases I’ve chosen for this tablescape would be a perfect match. I think finding a few different vases from different stores is important because they add variation.
When it comes to plates I like to stick to the basics and, of course, clean sleek lines. Mixing it up with shapes is always fun, so that’s why using square plates makes this party inspiration more unique.
You can never go wrong with simple silver flatware — it’s timeless.
These glasses have made an appearance at a few soirees I’ve been to in the past couple of months. They caught my eye and are a nice change from normal stemware. The champagne flutes are on my wishlist.
Heath’s headquarters is located in Sausalito, just right over the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s heaven for any interior designer. The amazing ceramics immediately take your breath away when you walk in the door. I’m constantly stopping by the Ferry Building location since it just four blocks from my office. The color combination of these bowls are divine.
Votive candles are a MUST for any outdoor dinner party. In my eyes, it’s better to have too many because they completely set the ambiance for the space. Once the sun goes down it creates a magical feeling that all of your guests will remember.
These are perfect to serve up your appetizers, bread and a cheese spread with rustic style.
I don’t have a green thumb, so you’ll find me using succulents a lot around my house, office and even for centerpieces. They are beautiful, unique and last forever.
On a hot summer night, endless amounts of delicious beverages will be needed. These dispensers by Roost display them beautifully.
These will make the space and ambiance completely magical.
Adding nature into a tabletop adds an element of texture. I tend to find mossy bits or something like this Cholla Tree Branch to intertwine with the vases down the center of the table.
These Japanese kitchen cloths are beautiful in person: simple, and as you wash them they only become softer, which is a plus in my book. They go with any tabletop you're putting together, especially this neutral one.
I love the idea of tying the napkin with a little tag as the place card. This jute twine is perfect for this look.
If you don’t have time to do a DIY tag, run to your local craft shop or use hang tags. When you tie them with the beautiful natural twine on a lovely white napkin all of your guests will think it's elegant. Next: More guest blogger product picks
When trying to find more inspiring outdoor dinner party decor this one also struck a cord with my heart - the nature, huge wood chair and lanterns.
