curious how hard is this to do?
13 by 11 feet — working with designer Jason Ho, he was able to come up with a clever table that sits on CASTERS AND SLIDING TRACK, allowing it to move into different positions and serve as a work station, dining table or buffet. 60-by-30-inch natural-edge walnut tabletop has wheels on both sides. On the kitchen side, seen here, the table’s wheels fit in a narrow track in the PENINSULA wall. On the other side, the table is supported on the floor by a hollow metal frame with casters / roll the table back and forth from the middle of the room to the wall. Pendants can be pulled up higher.
Wheels attached to the underside of the 2-inch-thick table sit on a floor track tucked into a niche in the peninsula, allowing the table to slide. O’brien found lockable doorstop hardware to attach to the track to allow the table to securely snap into position. “Eventually, we settled on the simple wheel on a track, which gave the cleanest look and most ease in installation.” So easy, in fact, that O’brien installed the table himself.

DIY-friendly - instead of pasting the paper, you paste the wall with a brush or paint roller - quicker application and less mess. Easier to handle due to its tear resistant properties, making it very easy to place on the walls. Breathable fibers so there will be no mildew or mold growing behind it.
Solid wood coated with lacquer for a shiny finish, and to protect the paint.
The box cushion has a top, a bottom and four sides. The sides are called the boxing, and can be from 1 inch to 10 or more inches deep, depending on the overall size and use of the cushion. This banquette has box cushions for both the seating and on top of it. Keep in mind that the seat cushion will flatten in half when you sit on it, so be generous with your measurements. Piping, also called welting, can add structure. This can be either in the same fabric, known as self-piping, or in a contrasting color. If you have other cushions in the room, link that color to your piping. The insert should be firm and enhance the structure of the cushion. Synthetic inserts, such as hypoallergenic polyester, are a smart choice for cushions that will suffer from wear and tear. Just as comfortable as feather-down inserts, they're also great substitutes if you're allergic to feathers.
The knife-edge cushion is the simplest and most popular of all the cushions. It has just two pieces of fabric and four side seams that taper into sharp corners. Why not add a border in another color to an otherwise monochromatic cushion, as shown here? If you want a zipper, get one that matches the fabric color. You can also ask for an envelope-back cover — as the name suggests, the back fabric is overlapped to create the closure. The insert in a knife-edge cushion tends to look fuller in the middle and thinner on the edges. Use a feather-down blend, which will hold its shape and doesn't need as much fluffing as a 100 percent down insert.
Pretty hard I think! Kaufman Homes, Inc. -- we only used "shower liner" in the shower area, and a couple feet beyond. What I mean by "recessing the floor" is that we actually removed the entire floor structure (subfloor and joists) and built a new floor structure in the shower area that was approximately 3 1/2" lower than the original floor. This requires a design and permit in our area.
still have old shutters in garage, and for this?
Not impossible -- with reclaimed mirrors try good glue on a sturdy/ thick shade.

Webber + Studio, Architects: It's best to have a trim or finish carpenter purchase and install your 1 x 6 material. We as the architect only spec 1 x 6 and let the builder choose what they would use in this specific instance. PRO /Wendy Fincher-Hughes: I am in the process of planking over some damaged drywall and I am using Luan purchased at Home Depot for around $10 for 4 x 8 sheets and cut into 5 7/8" strips. I love the look and so far have found the project pretty simple... You need a saw, level and a nail gun.

The shelves are free floating. The carpenters used long lag bolts - they cut off the heads of the bolts, inserted them into the wall, drilled holes in the 2" shelves, put epoxy in those holes and slid the boards onto the lag bolts. The shelves sit about 1/2 inch off the wall.

PRO/Monticello: "The "knobs" are old yarn/thread spools that we cut in half and attached with double-threaded screws [typically designed for railing systems]. We had the advantage that our walls were SIP panels, so we had OSB covering the entire wall so we could place them wherever; you'd need to find studs on a standard house." Find at a flea market.

Gesso is a white or grey paint mixture of binder, chalk, gypsum, pigment. Thin with water and mop onto floor. Dry, buff or sand areas too thick and apply 3 coats commercial grade Bona sealer. Your floor man may need to play with it on samples to come up with a good formula. This is grey gesso.

Brooklyn Home Co.: "Simple. We attached vertical 2 x 4's to Ikea's bed frame with large screws, careful not to screw into drawer mechanism / lathe panels with 1 x 2 rails and wood lathe cross pieces that you get from a building supply store. We thinned white primer with water and dash of grey paint, and coated the in-sanded lathe panels. Then we attached the panels to the vertical 2 x 4's. The rest is all in the measuring."
