Making Patterned Furniture Work
Our new favorite way to make a style statement is by decorating with patterned furniture. Not only does beautifully painted or upholstered furniture draw the eye, but it can set the tone for an entire room. Interior designers often use patterned pieces as large as a sofa but it can be a daunting task if you’re not a professional. Here, we’ll show you three ways to design a space using furniture as fashionable as can be.
Make a style statement with bold patterned furniture—we’ll show you three ways to make it work.
1. Use The Rule of Two
A great way to decorate with pattern without going overboard is to use The Rule of Two. Choose pieces with patterns in just two colors, ideally a neutral and a shade repeated elsewhere in the room. If you want to use more than one patterned piece, double that rule; stick to two colors per item and no more than two items.
