Kim, I think you are wise to not use the gray you posted above.....way too busy. Have you thought of doing a large format (24x36") porcelain tile? I feel like the porcelain FAUX-WOOD TILES are too short and look too busy. The grains and patterns need to be subtle and should be at least 6-8" wide to mimic current wood floors.
A large format tile (stone or porcelain) in a neutral color would be beautiful. What about carrara marble in large format (18x36")? Would be stunning!
