first, lets tackle this.
No floating rugs. you have to anchor this. push it back under the legs of the sofa. In fact, rotate that sofa so that the back is against that wall w/the small photos. the way you have it now looks awkward.
This is how you do a rug under a sofa. this is how you do mcm design (see if you can find a little table like this
i'm going to show you a bunch of pics w/a lot of diff ideas to help you stage this better. sometimes I'm all over the place to give you options. pick and choose what you like first, and we can narrow things down from there.
The pictures on this wall, too high. And a fan over a dining table? with a rug that's way too small? ditch both.
I'd bring in the sisal rug from the living room and put it under this dining table.
Or, better yet, do black chairs (instead of those red/blue)
You have a ton of color and patterns in here, and now you want to do an accent wall?
too much.
I'd scratch that rug and those chairs (or just have the chair seats recovered) and do something like this if you want to ramp up the wall design.
The issue is, this black goes w/nothing in either of those rooms. if you had the black chairs, maybe a black/white rug, and something black in the other room, then it would be cohesive.
I'd look for a type of console or buffet and use that against the wall w/some other type of art. Get a proper table light fixture. no one wants a fan over their food while they're eating.
what about something like this, but in a diff color? (ignore her table/chairs, just look at the layout of the design)

Here's the tutorial if you want to copy it.
Then I'd bring in an mcm type of console, buffet, dresser, deck it out like this dry bar w/a mirror or a large piece of art, properly sized rug and a light instead of a fan.

This type of wall design, super easy. get some 1X1 pieces, measure out the wall, for spacing and attach them w/a finish nailer. (prime them first, and paint the wall first!)
Instead of black, I'd just do a white wall. you have so many bold colors in that room, doing a black accent wall will be too much. it works here because everything is neutral.
do your table/rug like this, w/some kind of console piece. since you have an mcm thing going, why not look for a vintage credenza piece?
heck, make it easy. do some 1X2" or 1X3" batten pieces and just go from floor to ceiling w/them.
something like this against the wall?
Poor photoshop, but what do you think of something along these lines?
I like this one too. w/all of the hard angles in the house, this simple round table gives the eye a chance to rest a little and softens the hard edges a bit.
Look up "small mid century modern dining room design"
Or, the other thing you might try is a bench or setee against that wall,
for example, here's a velvet one in a simlar color as your sofa. I'd do your wood table w/recovered seats, or get some diff chairs. diff lights you could use, I gave you this flattened large pendant. keep the rug sedate
another version:
push your table up like this, (you could do a red setee if you like to go w/the chair
and do a proper pendant light. with a proper rug. Notice the size of these art pieces. again, yours are way too small and way too high
people always think eye level is for someone 6'5". it's not.
Actually, what if you faced the sofa towards this pic wall, (try moving the furniture around a bit)
so that its facing the wall like this. get a similar console
or, do something like this for an "accent wall" ? please, lose those teeny tiny pictures and get something substantial like shown here.
Since you like color, check out what this girl did w/her room

Or, The Junglalow:
this is how you do color!
BTW, w/the teal colors, the deep golds, leather, deep dobalt, look amazing w/that shade.

If you want this house to stand out, staging is going to be your best bet.
I've posted a lot of pictures trying to convey what I see could be done.
