Glass tile is a little more expensive to install than porcelain or ceramic, because cutting it can be trickier...order 15% (vs standard 10%.) There's a huge range of cost for glass and porcelain tile both -- quality, size, material, brand. There isn't often a large amount of square footage in a typical kitchen, so even a slightly more expensive tile shouldn't break the bank.

PRO /Gregory Roth Design That tile is a hand-made terra cotta brick, from a craftsman in Texas: http://dunisstudios.com/tileCollections/Hand-Glazed%20Bricks/colors.htm The crisp linearity and glossy sheen provide a great contrast to the softer finishes in the room, yet the tile has a hand-made feel to it...
I love it!
PRO/Popwheel Art : "SW Antique White with bright white subway tiles and dark bronze cup pulls for the drawers. It's so light and bright. You can definitely mix cream and white. The bright white makes the cabinetry look more creamy yellow than it otherwise would [without the white to compare it to]. I also used charcoal grey tiles on the floor in a herringbone pattern. The subway tiles I used were much bigger (4x12) and the wall color I used was SW Sea Salt. It ended up looking "beachy" because of the sea salt color. In this kitchen I see the back wall is probably Sherwin Williams "Believable Buff" which is a few shades darker than Antique White."
