Secret Business Garden
We are landscaping our high desert (5500’ elevation), zone 5, yard to look kind of 1950’s formal / cottage with an obvious veggie patch in the rear and raised flower beds (that contain edibles but look like they are not) all around our 1976 double-wide Mobile home.
We grow the plants to eat and the seeds to sell, along with a few garden related/gleaned handcrafted items. We are both seniors with major health issues and want as little back-breaking physical work as possible… thus the two raised beds that contain our annual veggie patch with onions, strawberries, artichokes, corn salad, rhubarb, yarrow, and asparagus in the rear. While we do have many other edible plants that do not look like ordinary veggies that are encircling our home, we still want more.
We only began the landscaping 2 years ago… mostly from heirloom, non-GMO seeds.
