Such a great plant! It is under-utilized in the garden. I've found its best use is in the woodland border where it can get a little break from the sun during the day. As the article states, it should be planted with brighter foliage plants. One combination that has worked well for me is pairing it with Hakonechloa 'Aureola'. The chartreuse colors of the Hakonechloa really help the Snakeroot shine. The blooms of this plant, though, are in my opinion, its best treat.

I do like the darker coloring of this plant. It would indeed complement rather than compete with many other foliages. Great pick!
