Kitchen Ideas for Wicki's Addition
I'm trying to amass some photos for my friend Wicki and her addition/kitchen renovation. She is shooting for modern cottage style, and is likely to use white beadboard cabinets and IKEA countertops. If anyone knows of some great images, and/or inexpensive counter solutions, please let us know in the comments. Wicki is also into a wood, white, and blue palette and totally digs subway tile, hammered tin tiles, and slate.
Speaking of slate, she needs help choosing flooring. Hardwoods are out, and she really likes slate but wonders if it's a pain to clean in the kitchen. She wants the easy of mopping up linoleum without actually using linoleum. She and her hubby are big cooks, and will be using a lot of counter space all the time with hot plates and cutting.
Oh, sink suggestions are welcome too! They probably need it to be divided with a disposal on one side. They will be composting like crazy as well, so any suggestions there would help.
Basically, I'd love to have help from everyone in da Houzz for modern cottage kitchen on a budget ideas!

This color palette and tile is exactly what Wicks is looking for.
Love the floor!
Nothing here is really like what you are looking for Wicks, but I just really love this kitchen.
Wooden countertop, interesting simple flooring, nice simple cabinets with cottage brought in via baskets and other accessories.
Lights, ceiling, floors. They flipped your idea - blue cabinets with white walls and shelves.
Cool use of steel on the shelves. You guys love red wine too much for the marble counters!
Beadboard on the walls.
Farmhouse sink
Sure you don't want wood floors?
I think these counters might be perfect for your kitchen!
GORGEOUS FLOOR!
