Get Your Swizzle On: The Rustic Home Bar
Set up a casually-chic bar cart with ideas from these great cocktail stations
There's no denying the visual pleasure of a bar that's sleek and swanky, but when it comes to sipping down a much appreciated cocktail at the end of a cold, brisk afternoon, there's nothing like a space that's rustic and warm. With this thought in mind, I figured it may be a good time of year for an ideabook featuring spaces that are just that. Below I've included a few photos of gorgeous, masculine bars to get the gears turning, along with some product suggestions I thought you'd enjoy.
Keeping your collection of bottles tucked away in a dark cabinet isn't much fun, but if they can be viewed through from outside, the story changes entirely. I'm fond of this concept because it keeps the bottles from gathering dust and makes the countertop easy to wipe down at the end of the night.
Tambien Smoke Barware
So now that you're giddy with desire to create your very own space to serve cocktails, we should probably move on to a few pieces of barware that will feel all cozy and snuggly in the midst of a well stocked, rustic-style bar.
I like these glasses because of their interesting gradient of color: clear on top, smoky on bottom.

Savoy Ice Bucket-Cooler
The hammered effect of this shiny metal ice caddy will add texture to the mass amount of smooth surfaces found in the rest of the bar.
Sanderson Bar Cart
Nothing says rustic like the lovely patina of gray, weathered wood. I'm fond of bar carts because they can tag along with the party. Like a great friend, they kind of just roll with it.
Nambu Tekki Tool Bottle Openers
These unique bottle openers would be a huge hit with most of my creative-type friends, and I have a feeling they'd also go over well with the impossible-to-buy-for father of mine. Keep a few around for the beer lovers in your life.
Wine stoppers are one of those things that everyone should own, because let's face it, at one point or another, chances are likely that you'll be left with a just-opened bottle of wine when the party starts to fizzle.
Monogrammed Stainless-Steel Cocktail Shaker
No bar would be complete without a cocktail shaker, and this particular shaker looks quite charming with a monogrammed finish.
Natural White Birch Wood Coasters by Urban + Forest
These beautiful slices of birch would nestle into a rustic or masculine inspired bar quite nicely, and they'd make for some casual conversation as well. People are always intrigued by interesting coasters, it seems.
Speakeasy Bar Tool Set
Good luck keeping these tools on the rack; they will be in heavy use throughout the course of the night. But once the next day rolls around, the tools will be back on their pedestal, anxiously awaiting their next moment to shine.

The nice wooden table provides a visual escape filled with warmth and relaxation, while the shiny chrome base keeps things lively and upbeat.
Within this ideabook, I've tried to keep the theme consisting of items that are made of either wood or metal. It's an easy way to maintain a nice balance.
