Get Artful with Artichokes
Enjoy This Spring Vegetable's Shape and Color Around the House
Mmm, artichokes. Out here in California the season is upon us, and I for one couldn't be more pleased. It's safe to say I've got those prickly buggers on my mind, because in addition to adding them to my grocery list, I've been seeing them all over Houzz. From literal piles of the vegetables to houses painted in the same green hue, it's time they come out of the garden and into our decor.
I'm not so sure about the taste of a raw artichoke, but they sure look pretty dressing up a place setting.
If you're having trouble finding the artichoke here, look up; the hanging pendant light is named after the vegetable from which it takes its shape!
There are several shades of green to be found in this soothing bedroom, but the Asian-inspired bench looks just like that loamy artichoke color to me.
Here's a twofer: Artichoke Pendant over the dining table and a scattered arrangement on the breakfast bar.
The color of this sweet Craftsman-style home's exterior? "Artichoke" by Dunn Edwards. Couldn't have said it better myself.
Surrounded by modern design, a bowl of humble artichokes gives a bit of graphic appeal (thanks to those angled leaves) as well as a much-appreciated earthy element that goes well with the rustic floors.
Do you use artichokes as decoration in your home, be it literally or as an influence in color? Let us know how in the comments.
