When it comes to selecting colors for your bedroom, your goal should be to strike a balance between relaxation and rejuvenation. If you're drawn to more vibrant colors, they will be relaxing to you, so don't hesitate to use them in your bedroom. These types of colors will also revive you with feelings of warmth, romance, cheerfulness and creativity. It's your personal space, so use colors that feel right and bring out the best in you.

When walls are white or off white, and floors are neutral, a room can handle much stronger color in accessories. Problem is, so many textiles are muted. Those looking for more punch may have to get creative: find fabrics and get pillows or curtain panels made. I've even used faux silk apparel fabric as curtains, with great success, as apparel fabric comes in brighter colors than most home textile products. Use white "blackout" lining to protect from sun damage and they will last years.

Enjoyed the deep, saturated colors here. I just remodeled my tiny master bathroom, and painted the accent wall a rich eggplant. I love it!!
