Architectural Styling...
This Spanish adobe courtyard makes me homesick for Santa Fe!
Powerful desert color...
The simple forms of adobe always make me smile...more memories of childhood in Santa Fe...
Note the thick walls and recessed windows and doors of this contemporary adobe home based on traditional Pueblo styling. The ancient starkness of adobe that makes it seem to rise naturally from the earth sings in my bones. Childhood in New Mexico still has its hooks in me.
More contemporary adobe...with sparkling Grecian whiteness...
Neoclassic hillside cabin...
Shades of Le Corbusier...
Art Deco, and oh, the light!
I have to include this one for the sheer beauty of the way it blends into its site.
North Woods vibe...
This contemporary cast concrete studio building seems like a stone monolith rising from the garden.
Here's a close-up, showing the "scale" like construction...
Another view...
Another one...this time, like a flat faced boulder set into the hillside...
Island Stylin'...
Beachy again...
Beachy Blue and White...Coastal Cottage is a familiar style in my neck of the woods...
Bohemian Eclectic Beach Cottage...
This is sooo Southern...like going back in time to another life...I had to include it since it hearkens to my family roots.
Rural Southern...this could have been a share cropper's cabin on the back acreage of my Great Grandfather's place in Louisiana...
Here's an intriguing roof to allow for cooling in a hot Southern climate...
This night view shows the bones more clearly...
Since I live nearby, I had to include the Texas Hill Country vernacular...the wide open space is breath taking.
Here's another interesting Hill Country vibe...
And another Texas Ranch House...
And here's the old German European influence in the Texas Hill Country...
In a hurricane prone environment such as ours, this might not be an impractical idea at all
Here's an intriguing facade for a small cabin...
I'd be content to take just the central portion of this home and make a small cottage out of it. I love the feel of it.
Again...the center section would suit me just fine...
Ooooh...I love the colors of this one...so subtle and soothing. Once more, I could see doing just a single story with the porch, columns, and roof of this one...
This is about as simple...and elegant...as it gets...
This is a combined usage space that could work well for us...with the stable/barn on one side, a central dog trot breezeway and the actual home on the other side.
I love the clean, classic, unfussy lines of this modern facade.
What an elegantly simple exterior.
Louisiana roots again...
If one has to dwell in the city, I've always loved "row house" architecture like these town homes.
What a lovely old "painted lady."
Another perfect beach cottage...
Here's a lovely contemporary farmhouse...
Another view...
A third view...
Soooooo New Orleans...
Just flat out pretty...
