Dream Spaces for Oenophiles
Ah, vino. While I'm no expert on wine, I certainly enjoy it and can at least tell when a bottle has oxidized. In my house an available bottle is an empty bottle, so it's hard for me to imagine needing much wine storage, but it would be nice. Here are a few of my favorite Houzz wine spaces, from cellars to great kitchen racks, and hidden closets and bins to window displays. The options for wine storage are seemingly endless; just make sure the temperature and light keep the vino from turning to vinegar!
My friend Heather Rigsby shot this in Montepulciano - YUM! This type of cellar seems to inspire...
...this incredible modern wine cellar. It seems like a chapel in which one would worship grapes.
Hmmm, maybe I should just start storing barrels like this in my basement. This is Casa Emma in Tuscany - I recommend the Chianti Reserve.
Another lovely wine-themed dining space. The barrel ceiling is a perfect Tuscan detail.
Ohhhh, a wine cavern. Sexy curves and a great Italian-inspired display/tasting area.
What lovely warm light to warm up with a glass of red. The arched doorway is a nice contrast to the gridded storage.
When can I move in? This RULES!
GREAT RACK! I love this kitchen, and the wine storage area just adds more crisp lines to the design.
Very clever hidden storage that doubles as a bench and a low bar!
This wine nook makes spectacular use out of what could have been wasted space.
This is a fabulous storage solution. I like the contrast of the round holes with the very rectangular design of the kitchen.
The best cabinet in the house!
Backlit shelves turn bottles into an artful arrangement.
Just a few more Tuscan shots to show you some clever wine displays. This one and the next one were in Montepulciano.
I want to go to there...
