Scrollwork
Whether intricate or simple, scrollwork loves its curls
Scrollwork refers to intricate curves that form a spiral, much like the end of an unfurling parchment scroll. Scrollwork can be fashioned from wood, metal or porcelain, engraved or carved into an existed piece or added as a decorative touch to furniture. For woodworkers, the aptly named scroll saw is the tool of choice to create this effect as its thin blade will make the narrow cuts necessary for such delicate ornamentation.
