My master bath project.
February 25th 2014 - The bathroom has been plastered and primed. Tomorrow the tub will get re-caulked.The textured wallpaper for the lower portion is lattice square. For the upper I will be using a 12” mural. All of the trim work will be done in black and the vanity. I am searching for sconces and an orangy red plain shower curtain. I have to wait for the mural to arrive from the US to get the gold and green paint. The gold color will go on the ceiling too. As we will be losing the medicine cabinet were trying to figure out the best place to store the shaving cream and contact lens solution.
March 4th, 2014 The room is all prepped and waiting on the mural so I can get the right green and gold. I yanked out the old medicine cabinet and jury rigged the mirror. We need to rewire for scones and the overhead light. Currently there is only a ceiling light. Then I will need to patch the hole the medicine cabinet created and create a long thin cabinet on the left and right side of the mirror for tall "stuff". I guess I can paint the vanity and prep the trim. The more I look at that fugly tub surround the more I want to rip it down and tile.
March 19th, 2014 YAY I finally got my mural...BOO They sent the wrong one. So still on hold.
March 28th, 2014 The Right Mural Hath arrived!! The vanity was repainted to my satisfaction and now I'm off to get green and gold paint...electrician due here over the weekend!
March 29th, After much debating at the paint store I ended up with a cream pea soup colored paint. The gold looks like it belongs in the bathroom..Ahem.. I trimmed in today and had to see the yellow on the wall before I was sold. Making manicotti for a friend coming to sort out the electric in the teeny tiny attic.
Once he's done I'll be able to patch the hole and get this project done!!
October 2014 The project had gone into stasis. Still to finish ...
1. Black toilet seat
2. Black Faucet
3. Black fan cover
4. Shower curtain
5. Door trim and caulk
