Pool
The color of this pool plaster is grey. The water, sky reflectivity then result in the blue color, enhanced by the dark blue tile at the water's edge. There are many ways to achieve this effect, but it is most successful with the cement plaster of the pool shell. The plaster method we utilized on this pool is termed "hydrazo", a method that minimizes "mottling" of the plaster over a period of years. The pool plaster is a medium grey color. The grey along with the natural hue given by water makes it appear as a blue-grey. A great color for reflectivity and the illusion of a deeper pool. bricks for pool coping can be smooth.
This pool was built about 9 years ago and cost about $85,000 for just the pool, spa and pool cover, not including the brick patio, arbor and surrounding improvements. Many factors can influence the cost of a pool, such as ease of access for large digging equipment, availability of sufficient gas and electrical supply, soil and ground water conditions, the quality of the pool cleaning and heating equipment and the area in which you are building. In today's economy, I would estimate that this pool would cost 10-15% more.
