High Point Market Branches Out Into Natural Decor
Branches, driftwood, shells and sustainable materials were big trends in decor items at the 2012 High Point Market. Take a peek here
Perhaps it's that High Point Market, a huge furnishings industry trade show in North Carolina, came on the heels of Earth Week this year, but from vendor to vendor we were thrilled to see Mother Nature so beautifully represented.
From spectacular chandeliers made entirely of shells to tables crafted from tree trunks, nature-inspired furniture and accessories are definitely on trend for spring. Many are made from reclaimed materials or came from sustainable sources, making this look one you and your conscience can enjoy.
Bringing the outdoors in has never looked — or felt — so good.

Odds and ends made of twigs, sticks, driftwood and other flora and fauna abounded. Accessories like these from Gold Leaf Design Group are easy to incorporate into existing decor. We love these spheres especially and can see them in a traditional room, dressing down a formal bowl.
BoBo Intriguing Objects Wood Spheres
An accessory from Mother Nature is always a great choice. These reclaimed wood spheres from BoBo Intriguing Objects are a conversation starter for sure.
BoBo Intriguing Objects Driftwood Candelabra
Who knew driftwood could look so elegant? This candelabra from Bobo Intriguing Objects would be gorgeous on any dining table and makes eating by candlelight a breeze.
Arteriors Kosta Medium Authentic Oyster Shell Sphere
For that spot that simply requires a statement accessory, look no farther than this Arteriors oyster shell sphere. In a bookcase or on a nightstand, this piece can hold its own.
Bobo Intriguing Objects Egg Branch Chandelier
Statement lighting was definitely a theme of this year's market, and many of the most gorgeous fixtures were nature inspired. This Bobo Intriguing Objects Egg Branch Chandelier, for example, is made from Polish tree branches.
Regina Andrew Apple, Saucer and Cigar Jute Pendants
Regina Andrew jute pendants make a statement either alone or grouped together. Gorgeous in a sunroom or over a breakfast room table — we'd like to have all three!
Currey & Co. Oyster Shell Chandelier
This stunning chandelier from Currey & Co. is made almost entirely of shells. We can't think of anything more appropriate for a beach-home dining room.
Moss and Lichen Landscapes, 1
This earthy moss and lichen landscape is the perfect touch for any room that needs a little green.
Driftwood Rectangle Mirror
We've always contended that a great mirror is all that's required to keep a bathroom from looking bland. This Currey & Co. driftwood mirror would be wonderful over a sink.
Celeste Mirror
In person, this oyster shell mirror was the statement piece to end all statement pieces. In any room, the detail and precision of this handmade piece would be jaw dropping.
Side Chair by Kenian
Fast-growing, sustainable bamboo was a popular plant at this year's market. If you like the shape of bamboo but are bored by the color, no problem. Painted bamboo was well represented too. Springlike colors, such as teal, orange and yellow, and even sophisticated metallics make bamboo work, even if you're far from the seashore.
Butler Tray Side Table by Kenian
This bamboo butler tray table was a versatile market find. The tray is removable for easy serving, and flipping the base on its side transforms the piece into a coffee table.
Currey & Co. Marchmont Chest of Drawers
This spectacular shell chest, from Currey & Co., is the epitome of nature inspired. It would make a stunning night table in any bedroom.
