backsplashes
Backpainted glass.
Sparkly! That's the name of the game!
Sparkly!
Please don't talk about love tonight . . .
Green subway tile
Example of ming marble -- I'm not sure it's for me. I'm too splashy with the tomato sauce.
They have teal tile like this at Second Chance -- just sayin'.
Framed mirror! Easy to clean, reflects light all around.
Here is an example of how it would look to use all matching tiles to create a pattern.
Really cool. I like this more organized approach.
While I'm not particularly into the random-assortment and placement, I really like the idea of mixing different patterns together, especially to create a patchwork quilt effect.
Mottled, pearly, super shiny.
Investigate CUBAN tile! I wonder if we can get that here.
Mottled turquoise -- very pretty and happy
I like the pearliness of these tiles.
Tile is super dreamy.
Neat! Bottlecap backsplash -- Note that it's framed, so it can be taken with you.
Neat oval tile mural
OH! Apparently one can get Delft decals! Hmmmm.
Note Delft mural behind stove
I love the handmade, watery look of these tiles.
The whole Gestalt here is just great! I love the happy colors, the touch o' Byzantium, the cheerfulness of the room. I am very inspired by this kitchen.
I think I saw this lantern tile on both the Home Depot website and the Overstock website. It's great to see it in person. I would love to see the lighter blue version done up on a wall, and I wish it came in a Chinese turquoise or a celadon color. The cobalt/ultra-marine blue looks great here. I love the way it reflects like a pool, but I am not sure how that would look in our kitchen.
The backsplash is a "tiled" picture done in tile -- custom-tiles.com -- may be a good idea for us!
SHAZAM! If I ever do a modern kitchen, this one is BLAMMO! I'm not crazy about the dark cabinets below, but I love the rest of it.
