December 2017: Floor in the kitchen, laundry and powder room ripped out.
Kitchen floor was leveled properly so 6x39” tiles could be installed. Cement board also installed in December and new wallboard installed where needed, spackeled and sanded walls later painted in January. Changed my color from SW SeaSalt to SW Contented and I like the softness of the color and it has a bit more green than the bluish tink SeaSalt had.
All electric added as in high hats, more switches and outlets and centered the light over the sink.
** Updates added 4/6/2017 **
slowly updating kitchen from the original 1995 move in. Began searching for ideas in 2012 and began updating in 2013 as finances allow.
Completed and working on now:
*Placed 30” 3 drawer Cherry cabinet left of the oven. (see below) installed 2 of the oil rubbed bronze cup pulls the other 4 will be installed this week. This cabinet replaced a 27” 1 drawer and 2 doors with a half depth shelf that served no easy access. So much more room with just 3 more inches.
Stored all my glass pans in the bottom drawer since they are heavier, and our metal pots (2 sets) in the middle drawer. All my utensils with room to spare in the top drawer. Love the extra space already
*Painted the walls, ceiling
*bought 3 new lights, (table, island and over sink) and Inspired LED lights for the counter area
*spray painted upper cabinets SW Pro Classic Antique White Semi Gloss .

this is a 40" cabinet that replaced a lower oak desk cabinet that only had 2 small drawers and open area where the chair was located. Painting that and it will go into my basement framing studio. Purchased the cabinet in maple unfinished paint grade and spray painted antique white. The counterop will be a 1 1/2" thick black walnut top similar in color to the door I placed on top. My 1st Conestoga Wood Specialties kitchen cabinet assembly :) This is a 30"W by 42"H wall cabinet. This one is hard maple paint grade and will be painted inside and out Antique White. with 2 glass doors and 3 shelves. Going to try to do the smaller ones first that I can lift off the table myself once completed. The larger ones I plan to do one per day. that way when my husband comes home from work, he can help me lift it off the table.
Now that wood look tiles are in, decided to paint all island cabinets antique white and a black walnut countertop My center island. I spray painted the doors outside with my Graco airless spray painter. 1 coat of Zinsser primer sanding between 2 coats of Sherwin Williams - ProClassic® Interior Acrylic Latex Enamel - Semi-Gloss in a color called "Sea Salt" which is probably 5 or more shades lighter than the kitchen wall. I hand painted the front frame of the cabinet.
before painting the upper cabinets antique white New lower cabinets on order will be cherry wood with some sort of walnut stain.

before painting and replacing the 20yo cabinet knobs. May eventually replace doors with square CRP10 and only keep the glass doors with the arched top. *** Update 2014, bought new upper doors CRP10 butt doors.
Sherwin Williams - Sea Salt on the door Behr's Southern Breeze on the wall
painted inside of cabinet, still need to install beadboard on the back and replace shelves with solid wood painted antique white.
bisque Maytag Microwave, the color matches exactly to the cabinets and will look nicer than the black one you see in the distance. I found a family locally that had a bisque color 6yo over the range microwave in perfect condition they were selling to buy SS appliances. I just had to clean the inside from being used, it looks brand new. Sold to me for $30 :) save me about $250-400 from buying new which I wouldn't have done. Trying to save the money for actual cabinets and countertops.
This one although same 30" wide on the outside like our black MW, the inside is 4" wider and not only has a metal rack like our previous, this one also has a turntable. Just bought new filters for the under side and above.
