The Do's of Decorating with Neutrals
Neutral color schemes get a bad rap. Too many model homes with drab walls and matching carpets may be the culprit. Decorating with neutrals can be a very chic approach to a room, you just need to create enough interest in the space so it doesn't put you to sleep.
Use contrasting textures, fabrics, and shapes to keep a room dynamic. Introduce small pops of color in artwork and accessories. Vary the shades of a similar color throughout a room, and use pattern to keep the eye moving throughout the space.

Break up all neutral rooms with graphic elements and contrast, such as the dark curvy side table, oversized pendant light and blanket.
Contrast is key to decorating with neutrals. Taupe, bright white and a dark cabinet work well together.
Warm ivory tones and taupe will create a sophisticated space without the sterile feel.
Contrasting textures and materials in similar tones are a sure winner. The pop of blue adds just the right amount of color.
Gray, wood tones, and white is a winning combination.
