HAHAHA !! Sara tell your husband thanks for the shout out! :-D I know what you mean about the time we've spent overthinking this decision. It's a little crazy!!
I finally pulled my samples out of their boxes and put them in various places in my house. Whew! I have a new appreciation for ishop19 and the day she pulled her samples all over her house! :-D
As I was taking pictures I noticed the camera and computer screens really do play with color and shading (as if room light and paint colors weren't enough!) How they look in my phone is not how exactly how they look on the floor.
In real life - Kingswood is not as smokey as it appears on the screen and while there is a sense of variation and tone in the dark/light shading, and a sense of "white" brush strokes on the screen those are not as a intense in real life as it is on the screen.
In real life - Brenwick does not appear as dark as it seems on the screen and if you look carefully...you can see the "glitter" ;-) but you don't really notice it (at least I didn't after I stopped looking for it)
As you look at the pics, remember the flooring is not going in this house, but the coloring for trim and paint color, as well as furnishings will be very similar. My style is eclectic with lots of differing wood tones- colors - etc. I currently have very little furniture for the MI house, but it will have echoes of this house. My goal for up there is to create a restful escape in the woods! :-D
These photos were all taken early afternoon. It is a very sunny day here in Chicagoland and the snow is bouncing off even more light. I also turned on the inside lights in most pics, although in some I just left it natural lighting
My current light/natural floor skews it a little...I started to crop, but then lost other elements of the room or floor. I didn't do too many "whole room" or distance shots since the flooring will not ultimately be installed in this space.
THANK YOU in advance for looking at the pictures and offering any words of wisdom or opinions as I choose the flooring for my "respite, escape house in the woods with an "upscale farmhouse feel ~ with both vintage & traditional elements ~ and touches of Scandinavian heritage. The kitchen cabinetry and all wood-work will be warm white, very much like the trim in the pictures below and the walls will likely be similar, as well. The color looks "blueish" in the pictures, but it's actually a greige called Balboa Mist ... light gray/light beige
I hope these pictures also help you as you continue to consider your own selection! :-D
