Barkitecture — home design tailored to four-legged friends — is trending in new construction and renovations. And anyone who’s lathered up a pup in their own bathroom understands why a designated dog-washing station is at the top of many homeowners’ wish lists. A raised tub or step-in shower in an entryway, laundry room or garage can keep muddy paws and other messes at bay while making the washing experience more pleasant for both pet and owner.

Great article with great dogs. What i as a cat owner would really like is an article on kitty litter box spaces, easy to clean and not on the floor so lifting the box to change litter easier on the back. Please, Houzz?

We did a total remodel over the last 2 years. The top of the list was a doggie station for our 5 dogs. The drawers underneath pull out to make storage steps, so the bigger dogs don't have to be lifted up. The showerhead has a magnetic holder, so you don't have to keep turning the water off. Custom tiles with photos of all the dogs surround the walls. I absolutely love it!
