I have (or should I say, used to have?) 'Variegata di Bologna', but after 22 years, all that's left is the reversion to solid pinkish purple. Its fairly common for this rose to revert to solid color, losing all of its striped parts. (The solid color is a stronger plant than the striped)
Here in the PNW, 'Variegata di Bologna' is extremely disease prone: in the spring it has chronic Blackspot, and in August, its starts to Mildew (assuming it has any foliage at all). I would only grow this again if I was going to commit to using fungicides without fail.
Its beautiful when its growing well, but its a fight to keep it healthy, and you have to remove the branches that revert to solid color.
