Okay Henry hope I’m not wasting your time. We have a 48” Wolf with a 10” riser behind it. Hard to tell in the pics but the top back of the riser is turned towards the front of the stove. Yes you will get some heat up there but majority focus towards the front. I keep my can of “Old Bay” seasoning back there and a plastic bottle of Kirkland Sea salt as well. How hot can it get? I also preheat my ovens to almost 5OO Degrees for bread. I do this several times a week. I almost went with a granite back there but since my old stove (18 years) has a griddle and a charbroiler brick hides a multiple of sins. Hope I didn’t make it worse for you. Best of luck in your decision.
