secret bedroom storage OVERS
Tuck behind a headboardPushing a bed away from the wall may feel counterintuitive, but in rooms with suitable dimensions, it can almost create another tiny room. This built-in headboard conceals a clothes storage area in the void behind it. Depending on the shape and size of your room, there are several options – from closed storage in the top half of the wall, the bed butted up underneath; to a walk-in closet with rails or even doors, as here, where space allows. An interior designer can design bespoke storage that will make the best use of every inch of the space you have.
HOPE VICKY’S OK WITH THIS ;)Double up on a doorThe back of a bedroom door can also provide invaluable hanging space for all sorts of objects that might otherwise end up in a heap or taking up floor space. Here, it’s used for handbags and scarves, but you could also keep a laundry bag or drawstring bag for, say, scarves, hats and gloves in a fabric that coordinates with your decoration for laundry. Towels-in-use could also live here if you are strapped for bathroom space (top tip, switch to lightweight hammam style towels to save on more space still).
