I've avoided this thread since Day#1, as I didn't want to get caught up in a thread that I was sure was going to be just a lot of bad-mouthing doctors. And, yes, I do know that some deserve it. BUT, I do want to add some information that you all may not be aware of. So here it goes, and I probably will not be back to answer any questions.
I KNOW MDVIP BECAUSE MY HUSBAND WAS ONE OF IT'S PHYSICIANS FOR 5 YEARS BEFORE HE RETIRED!I
These are some facts to digest, which I know firsthand because of him, because I was the co-owner of our clinic, and because I am a former healthcare professional myself.
(1) MDVIP was created by a group of physicians who were fed up being forced to see so many patients every day working for hospitals and/or medical providers, who actually had time limits they wanted you to adhere to, usually 5 minutes or less per patient. And, so many patients per hour and per day. AND many patients were not even seen by physicians but by others who will not be named at this time. These docs were frustrated because too many patient illnesses were being missed.
(2) So, the monthly or yearly fee to join is because now each physician:
(3) limits the amount of patients in his/her practice. SO THAT EACH PATIENT IS SEEN FOR A 30 MINUTE (OR LONGER) EXAM WITH THE PHYSICIAN, EVERY SINGLE VISIT. This is MDVIP policy. So, folks, you do the math, this vastly decreases the number of patients one doc sees every working day! ***Oh, and your annual physical itself takes about 90 minutes on each of two days, so these also cut into how many patients a doc can see each day!!!
(4) AND, per my husband and every other MDVIP doc I ever talked with, they were all in agreement saying, THIS IS THE WAY ALL MEDICINE SHOULD BE PRACTICED! I am catching so much more NOW when I see my patients! For example, someone comes in with a sore throat. But, they have the next 30 minutes of my time, so I also check their heart, their lungs, ask questions, anything else bothering you, etc? These docs have then caught heart problems before they caused a disaster. Caught cancers! Eye problems, Etc., etc.!
(5) There are no nurse practitioners, etc. in an MDVIP practice; you see your physician every single time, always!
(6) If an MDVIP patient has a problem, they call the office and are almost always seen that day or the next!!!!! No waiting weeks!
(7) The annual physicals for every patient are very, very extensive and detailed. Their blood work alone is mind-boggling! You catch a lot of hidden problems early on by being this thorough!
(8) Every patient is given their physician's private cell phone number and can call them directly after hours if they have an urgent question or an emergency. And, let me tell you, they do use it!
(9) MDVIP stands for MEDICAL DOCTORS who place their VALUE IN PREVENTION.
(10) So, of course, not everyone needs this kind of care, but many sure want it! Yes, the annual fees are pricey, but keep in mind that your access to your own personal physician is 24/7. But I can also assure you that every MDVIP doc I knew, including my own husband, did NOT make more money, THEY MADE LESS MONEY BY FAR! BUT THEY WERE ALL SO, SO DARN HAPPY BECAUSE THEY WERE PRACTICING MEDICINE LIKE IT WAS MEANT TO BE PRACTICED, FOR THE PATIENT!!!!
So, that's it. Like I said, I probably won't be back to read any comments, as I know there will be a few negative or nasty ones and I don't want to ruin my day or my caring about this site. But, please know that MDVIP docs join it because they darn well do CARE!
