spacepak makes this type.
It's different than mini split --- it's a high velocity system that uses duct work.
Just another way of doing things. The ducts are small and slid thru the structure wall cavities.
The ducts are proprietary to the system, so you better have a local distributor. AFAIK they can be paired with normal HVAC condenser. But due to the nature of how this system operates a Bosch Inverter HP condenser wouldn't be a bad pairing option. (compressor modulation in 1% steps up and down)
From what I have read and heard about them the indoor air handlers are configured to the size you need. Similar in regards to what Bosch Inverters do.
BUT... without a local distributor? In an era of trying to find parts, that distributor relationship can't be taken for granted. (same thing for mini splits if you decide to go ductless, just buying something because it's cheap / posed to be better doesn't mean it is.) I doubt spacepak would be considered a cheap option. It's just another option...
They haven't made a product yet that doesn't require maintenance, repair and eventual replacement.
If you think you will make a distributor happy with buying one system every 20 years. guess again. This works by greasing hands and greasing them often.
