Vapor,
Love your roses! Your Nahema bloomed-Woohoo! My new Nahema was olanted 2 weeks ago--had a 1st bloom yesterday, but I literally missed it & it lost all it’s petals-Oh, My, I missed it’s first bloom. He, he! No worries. But love your Nahema!!! I am so far happy with her & no BS!!!! Love your Brise Parfume-is it the same one as Carol’s? Clotilde Soupert CL , very beautiful, has a pinker bloom than Clotilde Soupert. Does the climber do well in your climate? I need to order another Clotilde Soupert as the door also hit it- it‘s canes knocked off. (Door hit it & Francis Meilland.) Beautiful roses!!! And your Cornelia is blooming-how many blooms now? Is Cornelia on 2nd or 3rd flush or blooms continous? Cobgrats on your Flamenco Rosita 1st bloom-she’s a vigorous healthy winter hardy rose-blooms profusely-great in your climate.
Carol, Thank you! You are so kind and love your humor! You keep me in stitches! Mmm, fragrant roses! Francis Meilland, another Grand Dame, Mme Anisette, Dee-lish, Michelangelo. The OGRs: La Reine, Mme Isaac Pereire, Ardoisee de Lyon, Louise Odier, Yolanda de Aragon, Mme Dubost. There are many OGRs with extremely fragrant blooms!!!! They have the best fragrances as it has not neen hybridized out of them yet. Mme Isaac Pereire has a really fabulous scent. try some of these top rated OGRs and you will be knocked over with their truly strong heavenly fragrance!! The best ever!
Bourbon roses like Mme Isaac Pereire, Mme Dubost, Louis Odier have a damask strong fragrance since Bourbons were crossed between Damasks & Chinas!
Hybrid Perpetuals are a mix of historic hybridizing & may have Damask in their history but these are heavenly scented; La Reine, Ardoisee de Lyon, Reine des Violettes. And Benny Lopez is a Damask Perpetual. All deliciously fragrant!
Diane, Thank you! Keeping B&B guests simple-not too many, but fun having them. This morning I served fruit salad w/ melons , grapes, pineappl-Yum! And buttermilk blueberry pancakes, Irish butter, real maple syrup, sticky buns, mozerella cheese- scrambled eggs and strawberry & orange juices. (Tgey arrived at 8:30pm last night zk left at 9am this morning-easy for me! I’ll clean up & enjoy the gardens today & work on my new job computer-trying to make it work, ha, ha!
Love your Augusta Louise!!! Hmmm let’s see-dark pink roses from 70F and faded pink/oeach roses photos in 100F? Right? All gorgeous photos! Love your Dainty Bess! Is she more a bush rose-I think she’s look pretty on my front hill.
