Pegboard has been popular for decades, organizing everything from our tools to Julia Child’s shiny copper pots. But while it’s certainly satisfying to see screwdrivers and kitchenware lined up just so, the modular, perforated board-and-peg system is typically prized more for its functionality than its good looks. That’s beginning to change, though, thanks to a new generation of custom and off-the-shelf pegboards finding their way into every room of the house. Below, check out 25 stylish examples popping up on Houzz.

To heck with the pegboards, though there are some interesting ideas here -- give me more of those orange kitchen cabinets in #9!! Why is it that Europeans are so willing to use bright colors, and Americans are so afraid of it?? Is it our Puritan beginnings? If that's the case, we really need to let go of it after all these years. I love color, and use a lot of it in my decor. Too bad so many are so fearful.
Our beach cottage has very little room in the galley kitchen. It's compromised even more by having a door way at the opposite end for the laundry room. This left us with a blank wall that couldn't be used for cabinets. I covered the wall with peg board, painted it, and hung pots, and large utensils on it. After 45 years, it's still in use and we couldn't do without it!
I'm using stainless steel "peg board" in my kitchen to hang my cookware on the wall rather than using a ceiling rack...I have lower than standard ceilings in my small cabin, and this solution is efficient and attractive.
