I have Teasing Georgia and Tess as own-roots, and Tess bloomed easily in a pot compared to Teasing Georgia with plenty of rain. I bought both Golden Cel (my 2nd one) and Teasing Georgia as tiny own-roots this May, so far I pinched off at least 10 buds on Golden Cel., versus 2 on Teasing Georgia.
A friend in Southern CA with only 12" of rain with alkaline clay grows both Tess and Teasing Georgia (both grafted-on-Dr.Huey) and she likes Tess better. Below is my Tess in only 4 hours of morning sun, it's a 3rd-year own-root:
In Facebook fragrant rose forum with Pakistan rose growers, there's a discussion about why Teasing Georgia becomes stingy after 5+ years as grafted, that's the same problem my friend in CA has !! In contrast, Teasing Georgia blooms abundantly as own-root for some one else. Climber takes a while to establish, so I expect my own-root Teasing Georgia behave like Crown Princess Mag. (gave me only 2 blooms the first year, now as 10th-year-own root CPM is loaded & continuous).
