Laurie, sorry I didn't see your post until today. I've included a better shot of the whole bed, but I'm afraid I can't tell you much about it. I found it at an antique mall in Arkansas. It was quite inexpensive ($125, I think).
It is a full size bed with wooden rails, headboard, and curved foot board. The footboard has four Queen Anne style pad feet, while the headboard only has two straight legs; all have little casters on them, which is handy. The wood is a very hard, dark wood with a close fine grain that runs fairly straight. I know next to nothing when it comes to identifying wood, but if I had to take a stab in the dark, I might say walnut? It might have a manufacturer's mark on the back of the headboard, but I can't move it to see.
I have seen several beds like this on CL, estate auctions, etc, so it must have been a fairly common style and doesn't seem particularly valuable. Justgotabme posted on the same thread you linked about having a bed just like mine, and she later posted a photo of an adaptation using just such a bed to make a bench or toddler bed. It seems there are plenty around, so I hope you find one!
