if you wanted to keep that vanity and just paint it, here are some ideas for that.
(you'd update hardware, get a new countertop/sink/faucet, new mirror (s) and vanity lighting. could also be pendants, as you'll see in some of these photos.
you could do the wallpaper on every wall, or just behind the vanity, and do the wainscot and paint elsewhere. or wallpaper the entire space w/the wainscot.
these first shots show what updating the vanity and keeping the 'make-up spot' would look like. Use your imagination
this one is similar to yours, but is stained, more modern door style. they did Fantasy Brown for the countertop. I don't like the tile or the mirror/lights, i'm just showing you what can be done w/yours.
they kept the top w/this makeover. (but you can easly replace yours by finding a remenant)
You could do a vintage style mcm dresser/console for this look
I love these. imagine this in your spot. the sink is already on the left side, top the dresser w/a quartz countertop. it's easily enough to do a wall mount faucet. new mirror.
wallpaper or tile or both could be done as well
at least w/this you'd solve the prob of all the space to the right
lastly, more rustic looking. you can actually cut down the mirror you have, frame it. get some pendnat lights. new flooring.
