IF your wood floor goes all the way under the vanity you could do something like this - all included with top, sink, faucet and hardware. Marble can be tricky to maintain so no harsh chemicals or leaving oily product messes on it which could stain or etch the marble. But, people make it work and lots like the natural 'patina' of marble. This look can work with a vanity of simple white subway wall tiles for the shower.
This is a nice shade of greenish off white if you like the idea of light and bright but not white white....The subtle variations in the tile give a bit of dimension and interest too. With this direction in tile you would want to go with an Economy Plumbing vanity and a remnant countertop. Donna, like this
Conversely, what do you think of white on white with a splash of color on the walls/maybe a shower curtain? The face of the tub could be detailed similarly to this to give a break from the all bead board look. Donna, I like that
Glass shower door detail vs shower curtain? As I said in my email I am hoping we can do tub/shower downstairs.
Notice the shower corner baskets - this will be the most cost effective solution to manage product in the tub/shower. Donna, like this
This is a bit more $ to do and with a recessed niche being the most $ Like the previous option.
This backsplash detail is kind of nice if you end up going the route of working with a remnant countertop over a new vanity.
Notice the built in cabinets - this is similar to what I was describing for your new linen closet (see how the headboard is on the side wall - the back wall here relates to the tile but in your case could also be headboard or could be a wallpaper accent or mirrored. I like how they did. Donna, I love this! Want something like this without the dark wood for the previous linen closet. Lighting is great - this is exactly what I want - but not dark wood/ Or do you think that is ok in the bathroom? Does look great here. a counter and the under cabinet lighting to keep it bright which I would recommend for you)
This built in has reeded glass uppers but I'd suggest keeping yours solid or mirrored like the next image so all storage doesn't need to be 'pretty'). Notice how the countertop area here is not lit and it's not as attractive as the previous photo IMO)
This is a nice way to completely maximize storage but keep it light and bright - the uppers could be regular mirrors or antiqued like shown).
Linen cabinet could be a different finish than the vanity. This shows a completely custom cabinet and countertop - this would be the most $$)
Here is a micro sized wall hung sink that could work for the powder room - wether you add a shower or not
More contemporary micro sized sink with custom enclosure to hide the plumbing
What do you think about wallpaper like this in the downstairs bath (assuming a vent could be added if you add a shower)? OR a color color in the room? Don't like this wallpaper at all - I tend towards simplicity. Open to some color but nothing this busy.
Another Micro wall hung sink and I like how they added a towel bar mounted to the side wall to hide the plumbing. One rung has the TP on it if you look closely. Clever. I do it best to fully tile or headboard the wall around this rather than do a solid painted wall which will always get splashed and water droplets can discolor the painted drywall after time. It would be peace of mind to have the walls around a small sink be very splash friendly. Like this with the towel bar. Love this Donna. Agree with this - my current walls have splash issues
A solid base on this just in case the floor underneath isn't up to par (and this one is sold without a top, sink or faucet)....Economy Plumbing in Fishers has a lot to choose from - my advice is to get as many drawers as possible. Donna, I don't think I want to replace my current vanity upstairs
