THIS is the shade I would like to refinish the floor in; this was when previous owner had the house, I just put a filter on the pic. This is the goal, darkening and cooling the red oak tone just a little, but really it's more about pulling out those gorgeous whorls in the grain. This floor is 20 years old now, and has held up ridiculously well! It's by far my favourite feature in the house, and so glad it's basically the entire main floor, from kitchen to master! Perfect backdrop for some gorgeous Turkish carpets!
Back view of house/property, looking WSW. SO much to do, here! Lower deck relocated to S side of house as part of sunroom/three-seasons room, half of upper back deck will stay and be enclosed as a back porch/cold room adjoining back entrance to a 4-car garage. Garage will come off the house in a south-facing "T", pretty much right in the middle of the house, below largest upstairs window. Approx. 10-12 ft off house, through upper deck-turned-glassed porch. :)
From downstairs landing, looking NW up onto main floor, and down into basement main area. Will MOVE this top part of staircase to open SSE into main floor laundry room as potential separate basement apartment entrance. (And get rid of awkward downstairs door in main living area.) Mid-level priority, depending on most practical time to add it to renos/contractor work.
SE upstairs bedroom: much to do, but not high priority!
NE upstairs bedroom: much to do, but not high priority!
Downstairs SE office.
Master bedroom with huge king in middle of the room!
Master bedroom with huge bed in very middle of room!
Super strange jack 'n jill bathroom on main floor, the SOLE bathroom on this floor! NO shower, massive amounts of extra space, and low toilet looking right out into living room... yikes! Will split this into powder room and master bath, as in original house plans (previous owner built custom) fairly quickly after moving in!
Upstairs bathroom: much to do, but not a high priority.
Another dining/kitchen view, imagine with fridge and that wall of cabinets completely gone, island added.
From landing, looking NW to upstairs and main floor.
Woodstove view. :)
Another view, looking SW... great afternoon sun! Oak floors have worn very well, but will refinish to neutralize/bring out darker grain.
Also looking south, into kitchen. Fridge and entire wall of cabinets on right side will be gone (narrow/shallow plate wall), so kitchen windows are unobstructed from this view. :)

Repainted the front door to this, for fun... may change later! Not as pink in real life, more of a nice eggplant.
Front view, from west side of house!
Dining and living area, looking NNW.
Probably my fave "inspiration" photo in terms of colour palette and style; I would just paint a barely warm white on the walls instead of the blue here... the thick darker wood casement around the door and windows is something to consider.
