EXHIBIT — Through March 4, 2012
Terence Conran: The Way We Live Now
Design Museum
Shad Thames, London SE1 2YD
Trace the influential career of designer and entrepreneur Sir Terence Conran in an exhibit exploring his impact on contemporary British lifestyle. The exhibit starts with a collection from the late 1940s-'50s that includes his welded steel chairs, textile designs, ceramics, and magazine covers, then leads to a reconstructed room from the famous Habitat furnishing catalogues from the 1960s-'70s.
Lighting, furniture, kitchenware, packaging, architecture and retail design projects from various Conran Design studios are included, and you'll also get a taste of his restaurant design. A re-creation of Conran’s Barton Court study offers a glimpse into his private world, and the work of recent Royal College of Art graduates awarded the Conran Foundation RCA Award will be on display, showing how he continues to impact today's emerging designers.

Portions of the exhibition and some programs continue through June 10. Purchase performance tickets here.
